ABOUT UNBLOCK TOKYO: ECOSYSTEM FAST TRACK

With major events converging in Japan this year, we are delighted to share the current state of the Japanese Blockchain Ecosystem. Since June 2018, the government has initiated a regulatory sandbox for new technologies including blockchain, artificial intelligence (AI), and Internet of Things (IoT). As of March, the country’s financial regulator, the Financial Services Agency, has issued operating licenses for 19 cryptocurrency exchanges, including Rakuten Wallet and Coincheck. Only last month, it was revealed that 100 Japanese firms will be joining forces to share critical production data on a blockchain platform, in a bid to elevate the entire Japanese manufacturing industry.
